The natural landscape of British Columbia’s North Shore Mountains provides a spectacular backdrop for this 2,200 seat spectator grandstand located at McLeod Athletic Park within the Township of Langley. The facility is adjacent to its 400-meter running track and provides an intense vantage for track & field events, soccer matches and football games. In addition to accommodating event requirements such as change rooms, food concession, and athletic gear storage, the building also houses approximately 340 square meters of office and multipurpose space.
As an opportunity to promote our local wood manufacturing industry, the facility features a 12 meter cantilevered translucent roof supported on one of a kind, glue-laminated composite trusses. The design of the unique roof structure was developed to achieve maximum utilization in material in order to provide a most effective shelter for the spectators.
